Prof. Ersilia Buonomo
Prof. Ersilia Buonomo was born in Salerno, 29/09/1956. On 28th July 1982 she graduated in Medicine and on 30th November 1985 she specialised in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine. During the academic years 1988/89, 90/91, 91/92, she had private type contracts with the University of Basilicata for teaching “Hygiene” for the degree course in Food Science and Technology at the Faculty of Agriculture. In April 1994 she obtained her PhD after attending the PhD course in Epidemiology and Microbiology at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. In November 1994 she won the title of University Researcher of the Public Health Department, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. On 18th November 2004, she was invited by the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” Faculty of Medicine Board, to take the position of Associate Professor in order to teach General and Applied Health.
Since 1999 she has been responsible for the course for “Planning and evaluation of Nutritional Education actions” at the School of Specialisation in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine. (Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”).
Since 2002 she has been teaching in Africa within the health personnel training programme for the DREAM programme (Drug Resources Enhancement against AIDS and Malnutrition) managed by the international NGO “Community of Sant’Egidio”.
Since 2003 the “Public Health and Nutrition in developing countries” course within the Degree course for Dieticians and Diet-therapists (Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”).
Since 2005 she has been responsible for the “Hygiene and Public Health” course within the same Degree course in Human Nutrition. (Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Biology of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”).
Since 2006 up to now she is Coordinator of the C.I in Human Science " at the Faculty of Medicine ”Nostra Signora del Buon Consiglio” in Tirana ( Albania) and is appointetd to teach Epidemiology and Hygiene.
She has participated in 160 scientific papers, 58 of which have been presented at national and international congresses and 61 of which have been published in national and international journals.
