Research area:
The Clinical Nutrition and Nutrigenomics Section carries out research in the field of clinical nutrition, for the prevention and treatment of chronic transmissible and non-communicable degenerative diseases, according to predictive, preventive, personalized and participatory medicine (Medicine P4). According to precision nutrition and personalized diet therapy, the Section offers a study of body composition, energy expenditure, gut microbiota analysis, nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics test, to evaluate the relationship between genome gene expression and diet. The Section offers a consultancy service for the application in the food system of the Nutrient and Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Point process and the definition of nutritional quality.
